31, 31, 31 Act of Kindness (part 3)

January 7, 2013

Hope you and your family enjoyed the holiday season, now it’s time to update you on the kindness wave.
31 Years, 31 Days, 31 Random Acts of Kindness (part III)

“Never underestimate the impact you may have on another individual and how it can be a domino effect trickling down to more smiles and more kindness.” MSR
If you missed part 1 you can read it here and part 2 here.
18. I wrote a letter of appreciation to someone who made a difference in my life. (With the advancement of technology, it’s nice to get a hand written letter from time to time.)
19. Gave $31to a friend who could use it for lunch or gas for the week.
20. Donated to “Food for Sharing” at Publix. (Publix provides a complimentary reusable grocery bag, how )
21. Let someone in front of me at the check out lane. (Did it on several occasions.)
22. Taped popcorn on a redbox (microwavable air-popped).
23. Used every opportunity to say “I love you” to my loved ones.
24. Supported and attended a friends event; it was the “Toy drive for Haiti” (held at the Rosen Hotel). Looking forward to more similar events during the 2013 year (God willing!).
25. Sent an old photo to a friend and talked about memories from that time. (We get so caught up in our busy lives and social networks that we forget how to be a good friend to others.)
26. Clipped coupons and left them in front of the item or underneath it with the tip hanging out. (Not sure if this went well because I didn’t stick around to see if they were taken. I’m not sure if store clerks threw them away while checking shelves or if they were actually used. I might have to think of another way to provide coupons next time.)
27. (Kindness to self) I wrote a note everyday of what I was thankful for and placed them in a jar. (Whenever I am having a bad day or complain, I shake the jar and pick and note to remind myself of the blessings in my life.)
This was picture taken during/after week 1.
As always, I hope you enjoyed part III as you did for I and II. Keep in mind a random act of kindness does not have to be random or involve monetary contributions, expenses and so on. The last post of the series will also include other acts that didn’t make the list but can also be done on a daily basis. Let the kindness bridge begin with you.
Till next time 🙂

Blindsided

This year started off with a blessing as I birthed my precious third baby. Two months later I find myself hospitalized for sickle cell crisis not once but twice. I never deemed myself a sickle cell warrior as I grew up watching my other sisters deal with this disease a lot worse than I ever […]

Fear in Vulnerability

I recently shared on instagram some personal trials. I stated it was a long, vulnerable transparent post; which it was! I originally came on here (the blog) to paste the post so it could be available on most of my platforms but I was inclined to post about fear in vulnerability instead.  I contemplated for […]
