Scenario:

Your significant comes home from work and complains about how he/she had a long frustrating day. About an our later a topic comes up that bothers you.  Your significant notices the mood change and asks what’s bothering you. You proceed to explain what’s bothering/upsetting you however, he/she  tells you that he/she doesn’t want to talk about it/be bothered with that now because he/she had a long day at work.

Person A: You walk away and say alright we will talk about it later.

Person B: You express that you would rather deal with it now so you can move on.

Which person are you?

                                                         

My simple response: You have a better chance of succeeding on what you work on!

Marriage/relationship is work also. As an individual in your workplace, you’re willing to go thru lengths or work on situations to prevent losing your job. So how is it any different in a marriage/relationship? You want the marriage/relationship to work then you put in the work. It’s easier to throw a situation under a rug for the sake of peace and move on but you can’t hide a huge pile. The more it builds the harder and worse the situation may become in the future even if it was minor.

I know I’m repeating what has been said by many and for years, however, as human beings we tend to forget or not practice what we think we know. So this was just a simple reminder of putting in as much work no matter how frustrated or tired you may be from work/school or day; what’s a few more minutes in resolving a situation at home?
