“Most couples spend more time planning their weddings than their marriages!”

Source

Pastor Samuel M. Dade (Patmos Chapel SDA) mentioned how many couples go to him seeking marriage counseling however, a date has already been set.  He states, couples as such have it all backwards. Premarital counseling should be done prior to setting a date and couples make a decision there after. As he said, I guess my fiancé and I just needed a stamp of approval and not counseling because we too had it all backwards.
It makes sense but did I think of it in that manner? No, I did not.  I am not oblivious to the fact that all marriages have their problems and issues, but I think the approach of how a situation is handled is what separates one marriage from another.
I thought the advice was very true and wanted to share; we may have had it wrong but this is just the beginning of our journey.  We pray to always love and put God first and then we will remember to love each other.  If interested in looking further, get a copy of “The Five Languages of Love” by Dr. Gary Chapman, I’m sure you will enjoy it whether you are in a relationship or not.

A Web Page

May 9, 2011

Weeks ago I wrote about, actually I vented off about my frustration with completing our wedding website (here). Well we have a winner!! I still have a few minor changes but I wanted to share the update. Since I was in between the black screen and going lighter, I went in between. See for yourself:

Thanks to those that had given their input/suggestions.

For Mom(s)!

May 8, 2011

No words or day can express my gratitude to my mother. To the strongest woman I know, I love you mom!

“There is no love, like a mother’s love,
no stronger bond on earth…
like the precious bond that comes from God,
to a mother, when she gives birth.
A mother’s love is forever strong,
never changing for all time…
and when her children need her most,
a mother’s love will shine.
God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one…
for all the tears and heartache,
and for the special work they’ve done.
When her days on earth are over,
a mother’s love lives on…
through many generations,
with God’s blessings on each one.
Be thankful for our mothers,
for they love with a higher love…
from the power God has given,
and the strength from up above”

My God sent rock & strength

Happy Mothers Day to All Women!!

Blindsided

This year started off with a blessing as I birthed my precious third baby. Two months later I find myself hospitalized for sickle cell crisis not once but twice. I never deemed myself a sickle cell warrior as I grew up watching my other sisters deal with this disease a lot worse than I ever […]

Fear in Vulnerability

I recently shared on instagram some personal trials. I stated it was a long, vulnerable transparent post; which it was! I originally came on here (the blog) to paste the post so it could be available on most of my platforms but I was inclined to post about fear in vulnerability instead.  I contemplated for […]
